Regional Trainer

I grew up in the city of North Bergen, New Jersey. As a child, I made many lifelong friends that are now considered family. My mother, father, grandparents, aunts, and uncles helped to guide me through my youth. Those individuals prioritized keeping me on the right path. Many exciting memories were created during that time. I graduated from North Bergen High School where I played football and basketball. Then I enrolled at William Paterson University and declared Biological Science as my major. During that time, the upper level science coursework became a real struggle for me. At that moment I finally understood the value of having a great education. It was ultimately my grandfather who encouraged me to believe in myself. He has been a great role model for me. Graduation from college would not have been possible without the help of my amazing mother as well. Out of college, I entered an a teacher recruitment program called TeacherNex. Through this program, I acquired a Biology Teaching position in Newark Public Schools. Teaching in that district was one of the most important things I have done in my life. Later I began working at Washington Academy, a special education school serving “at risk” students. There I learned the importance of differentiated instruction and student engagement. The Schwartz family gave me the needed support to grow through many difficult experiences in the classroom. I was also fortunate enough to have a dedicated principal in Dr. Matthew Helfant. He is an outstanding leader that has given me many opportunities throughout my career. Eventually I desired to go beyond the classroom. It was time for me to help fellow teachers. Through vigorous interview procedures and narrow selections, I earned an associate position at The Center for Teacher Effectiveness. Their Time to Teach intense training brought to light remarkable new strategies that I began to incorporate into my classroom. I immersed myself into the Time to Teach content.  In my heart, I know this training will help schools become a better place.
